Ken Carey brings his love of mother earth and it's wisdom to his books The Third Millennium - Living in the Post Historic World, Flat Creek Journal and The Starseed Transmissions; his passion for the upcoming millennium is contagious. Rhonda says "Many speak of their connection to the planet but Ken truly is at one with it, clearly a humble master walking the planet. Another one of my favorite interviews."

Excerpt from interview.....

Rhonda Anderson--- " I am so in love with Mother Earth, the forests, the plants and the beautiful flowers."( as she gestures to the vase of flowers between her and Ken)

Ken Carey --- "Grown in your own garden which is very neat".

Rhonda--- "Yes, I think when we appreciate Mother Earth she shows back to us…"

Ken---"Yes."

Rhonda---"she gives back to us"

Ken---"The earth has been longing for people like us . The earth has been desiring people that can see her gifts, her beauty for what they truly are; and when one comes along that can truly resonate with a biosphere, a bio-region, an area of earth, there is a synthesis. We become like a spokesperson, not only for that region, but for the many lifeforms that cannot speak for themselves. I think this is one of our primary human roles in the immediate future of earth's transition. We need to give voice to the Redwoods, to the Brazilian Rainforest....."

Rhonda---"Yes, Indeed."

Ken---" to many of the endangered species that cannot speak for themselves. Not just in a us/them way, but by literally becoming them because we love them so fully and completely that we know that we are fingers on the same hand. They're an expression of the same grounded being expressing in us. To know another creature, another life form, a mineral, a plant in that way...hmm is to know it from the inside. We do have the ability to translate they're thoughts, they're awareness, they're perceptions, they're unique gifts into human language This would make a case for why there might be another use for the Amazon Basin than for toilet paper. I get passionate about this!

Rhonda---"Well indeed you should! I love the statement you made that your life changed when you began to look at the planet as a single living organism. So indeed we should be passionate about it because we are a single living organism"

Ken---"It is, but I would like to clarify that a little bit. The intellectual concept is like accepting the idea as a sort of working hypothesis that the earth is a single organism and that we are parts of everything that we perceive, we are all connected..... ……pause… That's nice, it's like someone has the key, it opens your mind and your heart to the experience but what is really Tran formative, what is revolutionary, what is going to make the third millennium radically different from anything that has ever happened before is the EXPERIENCE, the actual experience of knowing that everything you perceive is a part of the same grounded being that is also manifested, that your connected..... a part of a interwoven fabric of life. There are no words for it! In my book the Flat Creek Journal I do my best to just hint at what is the experience but that experience constantly changes! Talk about a sensual universe…..when you look out…...I write in another book about experiencing a river valley, the hills and the forest as if it were my own skin.

Rhonda----"Yes, yes please go on.

Ken---"and the animals were, like, walking along my skin, the river was the arteries and the blood. When you have that experience, it is not just an idea that sounds good or some Ecology or Biology teacher has convinced you of its importance.. you don't go out clear cut the river valley. You treat it a little differently."

Rhonda---"Oh, no, no. Absolutely!"

Ken---"It does not mean we can not use paper products but there has to be a balance. Let us just say we are way out of balance now."

Rhonda---"But I do believe we are striving for the balance. Is there a particular time in history or in one's evolution that is better to enter into a higher state of consciousness?"

Ken---"There is only one time and that is now, there is not any other time. We make excuses and I have been guilty of this too. We want to do this first we want to get this together, we want to prepare a little better, but the only time to make that leap in consciousness "the transformation" is Now. The present moment contains all of eternity. The past and the future are spin-offs of the now. There is no better time than now."

Rhonda---"How can we know God's love?"

Ken---"By being present, in the presence of God, which is the present moment, which is now."

One of my favorite lines from The Third Millennium" There is no place where the presence of God is not; there are only people who are not fully present. You only have to be fully present to know all you need to know."

Rhonda---"That is beautiful!" I want to thank you for joining us on A Different Perspective."

Ken---"My pleasure."

Rhonda---"It has been my pleasure, goodnight."
